No Residential Overnight Camp for Summer 2024

December 21, 2023

It is with great disappointment that we must announce that we will not be operating a full, residential, overnight summer camp at Wildwood in 2024. After a committed search for a new director and several thoughtful management and executive team discussions, the organization has determined that we need to pause and conduct a full analysis of our summer residential programs to determine the best course of action for the future programmatic direction of Wildwood Camp.

We know that members of the Wildwood community will be enormously saddened by this decision, and we deeply respect the place that Wildwood holds in your lives and for your families. We assure you Mass Audubon is committed to Wildwood and the importance of providing immersive, residential experiences that transform lives and deepen connections to nature.

Because of this, we plan to run our full suite of Teen Adventure Trips to fantastic New England locations, and we’ll offer a few weeks of our much-loved Family Camps for summer 2024. We will also host a handful of Wildwood Family Fun Days so campers, families, and staff can keep in touch over the summer and get a little dose of Wildwood.

We do hope to see many of you for a Teen Adventure Trip, a Family Camp, or one of our Wildwood Family Fun Days. At the same time, we know that for many of you, this will be a break from the tradition of a Wildwood summer. We will stay in touch to keep you informed about the exciting adventures we have ahead of us.

Please reach out to Kris Scopinich, Senior Director of Education, or Gail Yeo, Vice President of Wildlife Sanctuaries and Programs, if you have questions or would like to talk about what’s next for Wildwood.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support of Mass Audubon's Wildwood Camp.
