Trails at Lynes Woods
Explore an easy loop, which provides a good introduction to the landscape at Lynes Woods Wildlife Sanctuary—old fields, forests, vernal pools, and Lyman Brook, a beautiful stream that forms most of the eastern boundary of the sanctuary. The Farm Pond, on the northern boundary, attracts a variety of birds and insects while providing good wildlife viewing opportunities.

Lyman Brook Loop
Length: 1 mile
Details: A short walk from the parking area leads to an old field and the start of the loop trail. To the right you will head into the forest, passing vernal pools, and through a lovely mountain laurel avenue, a must see during the spring bloom. To the left the trail passes an old farm pond and through very rocky and somewhat steep terrain. Whether you begin the trail from the right or from the left of the loop, you will arrive at Lyman Brook, a feast for the eyes on a hot summer day.
