Nature Detectives: The Art of Tracking
Part 1: In the classroom, students will be introduced to the art of tracking through hands-on activities. Using measurement and pattern recognition, students will learn to identify tracking patterns and shapes made by New England animals as they travel in snow or mud.
Part 2: While on a guided hike of the schoolyard or wildlife sanctuary trails, students will gently explore for tracks and signs, using skills from the previous session to decode the identity and behavior of animals that made them.
