Animal Life Stories Field Trip Series | Frogs, Toads & Salamanders
Field Trip Series: School-based introductory program followed by a field trip with a final wrap-up lesson at your school
As students explore the wetlands, vernal pools, and fields of the sanctuary, they will learn about life cycles and characteristics of local amphibians through games and hands-on discoveries.
Intro School Program (one-hour) Students practice observation and journaling while exploring their schoolyard ecosystem. Students will focus on the tools and skills needed to observe wildlife during their field trip.
Field Trip (1.5-2.0 hours) Students visit the habitats of wildlife to learn about their characteristics, structures, signs and life cycles. Students will have the opportunity to collect organisms and record data about their observations.
Follow-up School Program (one-hour) Students engage in activities and discussion routines to more deeply investigate concepts and organisms observed during the field trip.
