Environmental Explorers K-8 Afterschool Series- River Schools
Designed for groups of 12–15 students, Environmental Explorers is a weekly afterschool offering that connects students in grades K–8 to nature wherever they are.
Through hands-on learning in an afterschool setting, participants connect with their local watershed and explore ways they can work to protect it.
- Explore the local watershed and investigate water samples for living organisms, build a watershed model, and learn about the water cycle.
- Compare weather and climate, learn about greenhouse gases, play games, and explore through hands-on experiments.
- Work as a group to identify watershed issues related to climate change. This student-led initiative works to inspire change in their community.
