Wildwood Camp: Teen Adventure Trip - Backpacking the Wild Whites
Description
Hike across beautiful ridgelines and valleys in the White Mountains' Pemigewasset Wilderness. On this beginner backpacking trip, we'll learn the basics of backpacking while on the Kilkenny Ridge Trail and take in gorgeous views of New England.
This itinerary includes five days and four nights of backpacking, plus day hikes. Participants can expect to carry an internal frame pack weighing 35-45 pounds while traveling up to four miles per day over rough and steep terrain. It is important to have proper hiking boots that have been broken in.
Teen Adventure Trips begin with a half-day of team-building and orientation at Wildwood Camp. Groups then travel to destinations around the Northeast. Along the way, they'll participate in a variety of outdoor adventures, learn the basics of Leave No Trace camping and trekking, and meet with conservation professionals to participate in hands on environmental study or service. Groups are small and co-ed, with two leaders and between 5-8 teens. Participants practice hands-on skills in conservation and outdoor living and develop knowledge of the region's natural history.

Mass Audubon utilizes electronic submission of health forms through CampDoc.com. Within 48 hours of registering, CampDoc will invite you to create a profile. Your login will be the email address of parent/guardian from the first page. Please notify the office of any changes. Health forms need to be completed by May 1st. The Camp Handbook with packing list can be found on our website, updated each spring.
Refunds are not given for participant dismissal, failure to attend, absence, or sick days. If the camp must cancel a session, you will receive a full refund. If you need to cancel on or before May 15th, a refund of all but the $100 non-refundable deposit will be made. After May 15th, no refund is available.
