Stony Brook Nature Camp: Identification Olympics
Description
Learn how to identify everything - from dragonflies and birds to trees and frogs - as we crisscross the sanctuary in search of all creatures great and small. Make your own butterfly/dragonfly nets, master the use of binoculars and other science equipment, and aid Stony Brook in our land stewardship efforts. During the week, your team's challenge is to put your newfound knowledge to work by finding more than 100 different species of plants and animals! You have just one week. Can your team, do it? We will contribute our findings to iNaturalist, eBird, and other community science projects.
Thursday evening campers may stay for dinner, campfire, and a night hike until 10:00pm; or leave at the regular time.
