Winter Birds: Pigments and Colors

Description

Ever wondered why birds have such beautiful plumage in a wide array of colors? While some species have obvious camouflage, others change to adapt in different seasons. Learn all about the pigments and colors that adorn our wintering birds and then go on a guided walk to continue the topic in action with birds seen along the trails.

The talk will be in the Stony Brook auditorium. The walk will take place on the sensory trail and the board walk. Bring warm clothes and binoculars for the walk.
