Description
Learn about fireflies and how best to view or gently catch and release these mystical glowing lights of summer. After an indoor presentation about the unique lives of these diverse insects, we'll take an evening walk in the meadows for firefly viewing while keeping our eyes open for the stars, planets, and twilight wildlife.
To keep group sizes conducive to firefly viewing, pre-registration is required for this program. See below for information about the trails and terrain of your program's location.

Instructions
Meet at the education wing in the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center. Because this program takes place after hours, a sign posted outside will direct you toward the correct side door to enter.
This program covers 1.7 miles of wide, gravel-paved trails that are level or gradually sloping. This is a night program. Mosquitos can be numerous at night, so bringing your own bug spray is highly recommended. Wearing long sleeves and pants can be helpful as well. Check yourself for ticks after attending this program.
Bring a flashlight if this will make traversing the trails at night more comfortable. If possible, bring a flashlight that has a red light or is covered in a red cloth to reduce impacts on nocturnal wildlife and avoid removing other participants' natural night vision.
