Description
Experience a magical summer light show with your family and learn how best to view or gently catch and release fireflies! After a short presentation, we'll take an evening walk in the meadows for firefly viewing while keeping our eyes open for the stars, planets, and twilight wildlife.
This is a program designed for families with children, so all registrations require at least one adult and one child. To check our catalog for upcoming firefly programs designed for adults, visit massaudubon.org/berkshiresprograms.
To keep group sizes conducive to firefly catching and viewing, pre-registration is required.

Instructions
Meet at the education wing in the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center. Because this program takes place after hours, a sign posted outside will direct you toward the correct side door to enter.
This program covers 1.7 miles of wide, gravel-paved trails that are level or gradually sloping. This is a night program. Mosquitos can be numerous at night, so bringing your own bug spray is highly recommended. Wearing long sleeves and pants can be helpful as well. Check yourself and your children for ticks after attending this program.
Bring a flashlight if this will make traversing the trails at night more comfortable. If possible, bring a flashlight that has a red light or is covered in a red cloth to reduce impacts on nocturnal wildlife and avoid removing other participants' natural night vision.
