Instructions
Meet in the education wing of the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center. Since this program will take place after the main building is closed, a sign outside will point you toward the correct side door to enter.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress for the weather with long pants, long sleeves, and boots. If you want extra illumination in the dark, bring a flashlight -- ideally one with a red light or covered in a red cloth to avoid removing the group's natural night vision, if possible.
This program will cover roughly 0.5 miles of wide, flat, gravel-paved trail, with some limited movement off-trail. Off-trail sections may be uneven or slippery, and may have obstacles such as exposed tree roots or rocks.
Pre-registration is required.
Directions to the Greylock Glen Outdoor Center:
1. As you travel on Fred Mason Road in Adams, turn onto Gould Road near Jaeschke Orchards.
2. Follow Gould Road up the hill. Turn left to stay on Gould Road. (We will leave a plastic A-frame sign at this intersection that points you in the right direction - look for "Mass Audubon Program" and our bird logo). Do not continue straight onto Thiel Road, or you'll end up on an unpaved road leading to a water tower. Also, avoid parking in the small gravel parking area that will be immediately visible on your right - keep going!
3. Follow Gould Road a short distance until it starts to curve to the right. Turn right into a driveway leading into the Greylock Glen parking lot, marked by a Greylock Glen banner sign. You will end up in a large, paved parking lot with the Outdoor Center visible.
4. Doors will open 15 minutes before your program's start time to welcome early arrivals.
