Description
The mushrooms we see are just the spore-producing bodies of a much larger and more complex organism growing in the wood or ground below. The vast majority is composed of hyphae, thread-like structures, which form intricate networks below the surface. Fungi are the decomposers and recyclers of our forest systems. Without them, forests would take much longer to regenerate.
