Birding Explorations: Mount Auburn Cemetery

Description

Join the South East region education staff as we bird and explore Mount Auburn Cemetery in Watertown.

Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Watertown is famous for the diverse species of migrating birds that visit this beautiful habitat found in a densely populated urban area. Wood warblers are the stars of the show along with migrating thrushes and orioles. Join the South East staff for a morning of colorful warblers, fresh signs of Spring, and pure birding excitement!

Please note that this program starts at the North River Sanctuary in Marshfield. Due to the nature of the program we are unable to accommodate meeting or picking up participants once we have departed the sanctuary.

Transportation will be provided from North River Wildlife Sanctuary, 2000 Main St Marshfield, leaving at 7:00.

Please note that this program starts at the North River Sanctuary in Marshfield. Due to the nature of the program we are unable to accommodate meeting or picking up participants once we have departed the sanctuary.

The trip includes walks in varying terrains and habitats. Wear Sturdy shoes and dress in weather-appropriate layers. Bring binoculars if you have them or borrow a pair from us.

Driving North or South on Rt 3:

Take Exit 27 (Rt 139, Marshfield/Pembroke). Turn onto Rt 139 east and go 3 miles to Rt 3A. Turn left (north) and follow Rt 3A for 4.6 miles to sanctuary entrance on right.
