Description
Familiarize yourself with specific groups of birds you're likely to come across in summer, kicking off with those known to breed in the boreal forests of northern New England. Then turn to the coasts, narrowing your sights on shorebirds by discovering how knowledge of when different species are passing through can help you tell them apart. Explore avian feeding adaptations, focusing on where and how different species are foraging and finding food. As summer turns to fall, get tips on observing and identifying hawks just in time for their southward migration.
Each Birds of Summer session stands alone, but if you register for the full series before it starts on 7/24/25 you get all 4 sessions listed below for the price of 3. To join the series after it starts and receive recordings of the session(s) you missed, email [email protected].
7/24: Boreal Breeding Specialties
8/7: Shorebird Migration
8/21: Feeding Adaptations
9/4: Identifying Hawks in Flight
