Seasonal Landscapes: Salt Marshes

Description

Salt marsh ecosystems provide both aesthetic and practical benefits to their communities. It's hard to think of an ecosystem where the effects and evidence of climate change are more visible than in salt marshes. And yet, they are also where we find some of the most inspiring and hopeful restoration success stories. In this online program, take a deep dive into salt marsh ecology and find out how important their health is for our coastal towns to mitigate sea level rise. From filtering shellfish, forests of eel grass, fish nurseries and the tenacious Saltmarsh Sparrow, we will explore the beauty of the land of ebb and flow.

This standalone program is part of the online Seasonal Landscapes Series. Register for the full series before it starts on 4/29/25 to get all 5 sessions (4/29 Vernal Pools; 5/13 The Forest Floor; 6/3 Bogs & Fens; 6/17 Salt Marshes; and 7/8 Coastlines) for the price of 4. To join the series after it starts and receive recordings of the session(s) you missed, email [email protected].
