Description
The lives of native amphibians and other creatures are inextricably linked to vernal pools, temporary bodies of water created by spring's snow melt and rain. In spring, frogs and salamanders undergo an incredible migration to vernal pools for breeding, an annual event commonly referred to as "Big Night." Learn about vernal pools, the lives and life cycles of the critters that depend on them, the impacts of climate change on vernal pools, and how we can help protect them.
