Description
Songbird migration is one of nature's most amazing spectacles, and for good reason. Twice a year flycatchers, vireos, thrushes, blackbirds, sparrows, wood-warblers and more take to the sky flying thousands of miles between their breeding and wintering grounds. Researchers are using new technologies, from highly miniaturized transmitters to the Doppler weather radar network, to better understand migration. With this information, we can better conserve species which have specific habitat preferences. Discover the many ways songbirds migrate, why ornithologists think they migrate, and the extraordinary ways they've evolved for a life of almost constant motion.
