New York's Finger Lakes and Sapsucker Woods
Description
Enjoy the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York and visit the center of North American birdwatching, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Here we will explore the woodland trails of the world-famous Sapsucker Woods, and take a private, behind-the-scenes tour of the Macaulay Library.
In fall Skaneateles Lake and Cayuga Lake have a diversity of migrating waterfowl and other wetland birds including loons and grebes. As our travels take us around Cayuga Lake, we'll stop at the breathtaking Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls state parks and look and listen for late migrating songbirds.
The finale of our fun-filled weekend includes an extended look at the beautiful Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge and the Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area. Montezuma is a migratory stopover for Sandhill Cranes, Trumpeter and Tundra swans, large flocks of Snow Geese, up to 20 duck species, and more!

Space is limited. A nonrefundable, nontransferable deposit of $150 per person must accompany registration. Final payment is due September 25. Fee includes hotel accommodations, round-trip van transportation, private, behind-the-scenes tour of the Macaulay Library, breakfasts and one picnic lunch, interpretive materials, and field instruction. Participants are responsible for some meals, snacks, tips, and personal items.
