Monthly Bird Walk: Search for Woodcocks

Description

American Woodcocks are unique "upland" shorebirds, which nest in forested habitat. In early spring, male woodcocks make their way to field edges to court their mates, filling the last hours of daylight with spectacular aerial displays. We will learn about these amazing birds, then look and listen for them right in our very own urban park.

Kathy Stark Dia is a field teacher and birding guide who enjoys working with birders and nature enthusiasts of all ages and levels.
