The Secret Life of Pink Lady's Slippers, Spring Wildflowers, and Spring Wildlife Nature Walk
Description
Learn more about our amazing spring plants and animals with a guided nature walk along the scenic trails of our 125-acre wildlife sanctuary. As we explore moderate terrain, we'll uncover the hidden world of Pink Lady’s Slippers, spring wildflowers, and the wildlife that thrives this time of year.
What to Expect:
- Discover the unique ecology of Pink Lady’s Slippers and other woodland wildflowers.
- Learn about nesting birds like Great Horned Owls, Tree Swallows, Ovenbirds, and Black-capped Chickadees.
- Explore how animals adapt to spring’s changing conditions.
- Come away with helpful tips to identify common woodland plants, shrubs, and trees, including Highbush Blueberry and Sassafras.
This relaxed afternoon walk is a great way to connect with nature and sharpen your observation skills. It pairs beautifully with the morning nature journaling workshop focused on Pink Lady’s Slippers and spring wildflowers!
