Join us for an engaging 1.5-hour guided nature walk through the scenic trails of our 125-acre wildlife sanctuary. With moderate terrain and a wealth of discovery, this afternoon walk invites you to learn about the fascinating ecology and nesting habits of Great Horned Owls, Barred Owls, and Eastern Screech Owls.
Highlights of the walk include:
- Insights into the lives of the sanctuary's nesting Great Horned Owls, who have successfully raised eight owlets over the past two years.
- Tips for spotting and listening for owls and other wildlife during the quieter winter months.
- An exploration of winter animal adaptations, including how to identify tracks, traces, and signs of activity in winter.
- Practical guidance on winter botany, helping you recognize plants and trees in their dormant states.

Please park in the gravel parking lot by the large yellow barn and walk along the paved pathway in front of the yellow barn, two smaller buildings, and turn left onto the brick pathway which will lead you to the entrance to the Nest. The program will begin in the Nest, but the majority of the program will be outside in the 125 acre wildlife sanctuary.
