Looking Closely: The Art and Ecology of Great Horned Owls

Description

Celebrate the arrival of the New Year through the pages of a nature journal. Deeply connect to the natural world this January by learning more about, looking closely at and drawing the majestic Great Horned Owl at The Nest.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn about the fascinating lives of Great Horned Owls, including unique insights into the nesting pair and their 8 owlets that have called the sanctuary home over the past two years. This program will include tips and techniques for enhancing your winter nature journaling practice and drawing owls. You will have the opportunity to examine owl feathers, wings, and replica skulls up close while learning about their unique adaptations and behaviors. Feel free to bring your favorite natural journaling and art materials, but all art materials will be provided.

Don't miss the chance to complement this experience with our Great Horned Owl Nature Walk on January 22 from 12:30-2:00 PM
