Big Sit Birding Accessibility Program

Description

This 2-hour birding program is designed to be intentionally inclusive and accessible for people with disabilities. This program is open to all ages, and no previous experience birding or birdwatching is needed.

During this 2-hour "big sit", we plan to bird from just one location, the Joppa Flats Education Center. Depending on the birds and the weather, we can move between our indoor bird blind, for which there is elevator access, or our large, flat, backyard overlooking the Merrimack River. Chairs will be available in both locations. There will be a designated quiet space away from the birding area if you need a break from all the activity. We hope to see and hear songbirds, shorebirds, marsh birds, and birds of prey.

All levels of experience in birding are welcome; beginner birders strongly encouraged to attend.
