Merrimack River Eagle Festival: Guided Bald Eagle Tours

Description

We are offering adult only birdwatching tours during the 2025 Merrimack River Eagle Festival. Ride in a Mass Audubon van with up to five other adults and one of our expert birding guides. Each group tour, consisting of two vans (12 people - including leaders) will visit hotspots for viewing eagles and other raptors along the Merrimack River and surrounding area. The locations visited will be determined the day of the tour, and will be based on where Bald Eagles are being seen.

Limited to 20 participants per tour time - so register early, these will fill up fast!

You may register for the morning tour from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

or the afternoon tour from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

Instructions

Meet at the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center, 6 Plum Island Turnpike, Newburyport, MA. From there we will travel by Mass Audubon vans only, there will be no extra cars allowed.

Bring binoculars, a field guide to birds, and a scope if you have one. Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain. You may pick up informational materials inside the visitor center, or at Joppa Flats Education Center front desk (across the street). Vans leave promptly, be sure to be there for your spot on this exciting tour.

Restrooms are available at both PRNWR Visitor Center and Joppa Flats Education Center but may not be available at the birding locations you may visit.
