Introduction to Education Volunteering: Salt Marshes & Sandy Beaches
Description
Take your first step toward becoming a Joppa Flats education volunteer with any of the three offered programs that take place on Tuesday mornings. Our education volunteers help staff and field teachers present programs to schools, groups, and families throughout the school year in a wide variety of environments. These programs are free to Mass Audubon members and nonmembers can register and pay a one-time membership fee of $70.00.
You'll learn about the Joppa Flats salt marsh issues with erosion, sea level rise and climate effects and how we present these sensitive topics to school groups and families. We will also share details with you about current Mass Audubon conservation efforts to better protect the horseshoe crab.
