Description
Take part in a bird banding demonstration at the historic Foxfire Farm in Uxbridge. Using mist netting, we will attempt to temporarily capture a wide variety of species, from finches to warblers and more. You'll see these amazing birds up close, watch the banding process, and learn field ID skills. Strickland Wheelock, a certified bird-bander, will be banding the birds and recording their health, age, and where the bird has been if previously banded--you may even get the chance to release a bird yourself! After the demonstration, we'll bird around this protected biodiversity hotspot.
Transportation is provided to and from Drumlin Farm.
Also open to teens age 14 and older with an adult.
