Description
It's not always possible to see songbirds, so it's helpful to understand and recognize their sounds. From a chickadee’s alarm call to a woodpecker’s drumming, bird sounds can tell us a lot about the natural world if we listen closely. This trip is devoted to finding a wide variety of birds while learning about and practicing identifying their songs and calls. The range of habitats at the Federated Women's Club State Forest and other Quabbin locations will give us a chance to find warblers, flycatchers, thrushes, wrens, and tanagers even when the fully leafed-out trees hide most of them from view.
