Description
There's so much more to bats than their spooky reputation! There are 9 species of bats in Massachusetts, 5 of which are endangered. Learn about the lives of these amazing mammals as we explore our meadows and forest edges. We will track their movement and communications using Wildlife Acoustics' Echo Meter which picks up and records their ultrasonic sounds that we cannot hear and identifies the species that are nearby. We will also discuss why bats are important to our local ecosystems and how to support them in our neighborhoods and community spaces. After our program, you will receive an electronic copy of the recording which documents our bat adventure!
