Description
Each of us has seen examples of Nature's new and unnerving unpredictability, whether a submerged marsh at high tide, our shorter/warmer winters, or our favorite forest devoured by invasive vines. As our new world changes and becomes less predictable, it becomes vital that we counter these changes with knowledge, understanding and action.
The second lecture in this three-part series will focus on urban wetlands and marshes and their role in coastal protection. Speaker Sara Grady, Ph.D. is Mass Audubon's Senior Coastal Ecologist in the Ecological Restoration Program. Through this role she focuses on salt marsh and coastal cranberry bog restoration, coastal resiliency, and supporting Mass Audubon research and advocacy efforts related to coastal ecology. Join us for an afternoon of discovery and inspiration as we explore the resilience and adaptability of our local urban environment.
