Winter Birding at Castle Island

Description

We will search for wintering alcids, loons and sea ducks, shorebirds, and Snowy Owls. Dress warmly and be prepared for snow/ice, cold, and wind. Expect to walk approximately 2 miles on paved/level paths. Port-a-potties may be available.

Meeting Point: 2080 William J Day Blvd, South Boston, MA 02127 (Sullivan's Castle Island parking lot).

Auto Directions: Drive Day Blvd. to the end. Park as close to Sullivan's Castle Island restaurant as you can. Public Transit: MBTA's #7 and #9 buses serve Castle Island, though some walking to the meeting point will be required.

The group will be just in front of the restaurant.
