Introduction to Bee Watching

Description

Discover the fascinating world of bees-think bird watching, but with these essential pollinators! Learn to identify different families of bees and their unique behaviors. Then, take a guided bee-watching walk and apply your new knowledge in the field, observing these incredible insects in their natural habitat.

Instructions

Participants will meet in the Trailside Auditorium. Dress appropriately for a short hike, keeping in mind the weather. The trails are mostly moderate in grade but may include steeper sections and rough terrain at times.

For those with bee allergies or phobias: We will be getting close to bees during the walk. The risk of being stung is very low, and we will learn how to safely interact with bees before heading out on the walk.
