Description
Quabbin Reservoir, sometimes called an "accidental wilderness," provides ideal, unfragmented habitat for wildlife such as fisher, black bear, and porcupine. A Bald Eagle reintroduction project started here in the 1980's now has the highest concentration of wintering eagles in the commonwealth. The crabapple trees by the visitor center attract a variety of berry eating birds including bluebirds, robins, and winter finches. Join naturalist John Green for an easy walk around the visitor center and along the road.
