Description
Join David Spector to learn about the fascinating lives of three ornithologists with western and central Massachusetts connections: Florence Merriam Bailey (1863-1948), Chester Reed (1876-1912), and Ralph Hoffmann (1870-1932). The late 19th and early 20th centuries saw important legal protections for birds influenced by the new approaches to nature education and bird observation. You'll leave with a new appreciation for these field guide pioneers.
