Late Afternoon Walk at Quabbin Reservoir Gate 29

Description

The road at Gate 29 runs two or three miles down to the Quabbin Reservoir. We'll be walking on this quiet road at a leisurely pace, perhaps observing colorful goldenrods and asters in open areas and early fall foliage in the woods. We'll likely see soaring Turkey Vultures and Red-tailed Hawks. Bald Eagles are a possibility or a Purple Finch atop a conifer. We may also see song bird migrants or a grazing porcupine. Expect the unexpected, that's half the fun!
