Cape Cod Bird Sightings — Tuesday, November 26, 2024

Cape Cod Weekly Wildlife Sightings is sponsored by the Bird Watchers General Store in Orleans and Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. The following sightings were reported between November 20 and November 26, 2024.

A Cave Swallow was on Morris Island in Chatham on the 24th.

The Spotted Towhee, Western Tanager, Pine Grosbeak, and up to three Evening Grosbeaks all continued at various points along Race Point Rd in Provincetown this week, and a Bohemian Waxwing was at the Beech Forest on the 21st.

Two late Sooty Shearwaters and a Pacific Loon were at Race Point in Provincetown.

An Atlantic Puffin passed First Encounter Beach in Eastham on the 23rd, and other sightings there included 46 Razorbills, 21 Cory’s Shearwaters, 2 Great Shearwaters, 4 Manx Shearwaters, and 3000 Northern Gannets.

A Little Gull was seen in a large Bonaparte’s Gull flock on parts of Pleasant Bay spanning Chatham, Harwich, and Orleans this week.

Other sightings around the Cape included 6 American Pipits in Hyannis, a Snow Goose in Eastham, and a late Blue-gray Gnatcatcher in Provincetown.
