Cape Cod Bird Sightings — Tuesday, June 25, 2024

Cape Cod Weekly Wildlife Sightings is sponsored by the Bird Watchers General Store in Orleans and Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. The following sightings were reported between June 19 and June 25, 2024.

Two Swallow-tailed Kites were again seen over Mashpee this week near the transfer station and DPW offices, and two Mississippi Kites were photographed over Thompson’s Field in Harwich on the 20th.

A Franklin’s Gull was seen again at Race Point in Provincetown, where other sightings included a White-rumped Sandpiper, two Royal Terns, an Arctic Tern, a Black Tern, 22 Roseate Terns,

Other sightings around the Cape included two Blue Grosbeaks in Falmouth, single Black Vultures in Bourne and Mashpee, an Acadian Flycatcher and a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron in Mashpee, 2 American Wigeon in West Harwich, a Chuck-will’s-Widow at Nauset Light Beach in Eastham, and 2 Gadwall, a Cattle Egret and a Little Blue Heron in Chatham.
