1. Build a shelter out of downed and detached natural materials and then test it for waterproofness. 
2. Survey turtles in the Stony Brook wetlands, including our elusive spotted and musk turtles. 
3. Make a soda propelled skateboard or a tiny toothbrush robot. 
4. Take part in important community science by capturing, marking, releasing, recapturing, and documenting dragonflies to study populations. 
5. Travel by van to all kinds of different habitats, including the beach, to learn about ecology in Massachusetts. 
6. Make catapults varying in complexity with everything from popsicle sticks to fully adjustable wooden ones. 
7. Play games like camouflage on the Beech Island at the end of Stony Brook’s boardwalk or scooping mud from the pond and searching for insects and crayfish.
