The non-competitive environment nurtures fun memories and instills lasting confidence. Who could forget the thrill of gently holding a grasshopper for the first time or the exhilaration of paddling a canoe along a sparkling river, surrounded by the laughter of fellow campers, all sharing the moment of, "We did it!"

From Camper to Teacher Naturalist

One of the most inspiring examples of our camp’s impact is embodied by our effervescent camp graduate and teacher naturalist, Morgan Davidson. Morgan began her journey as a wide-eyed camper at just five years old. Year after year, her love for nature and education blossomed, leading her to roles as a counselor-in-training, assistant counselor, and eventually, a lead counselor. Her passion for teaching transcends camp; she has taken on the role of a dedicated field teacher, and currently a and is currently a teacher naturalist responsible for programming engaging K-12 students through dynamic school programs as well as family activities teacher naturalist responsible for programming engaging K-12 students through dynamic school programs as well as family activities, and special events.

"I was instantly inspired by the vast landscape and extraordinary creatures the sanctuary had to offer,” Morgan said. “Ipswich River quickly became a second home to me. My camp counselors were welcoming and nurturing, always encouraging my curiosity and desire to explore. They were such great role models. From an early age, I knew I wanted to pass on my love of nature to the next generation. I feel so lucky that Ipswich River Day Camp significantly impacted my life and helped me get to where I am today!"
