Climate Action at BNC
Boston Nature Center & Wildlife Sanctuary is doing its part to leave a lighter footprint on the environment by utilizing green technology.
Net Zero
Boston Nature Center undertook a multi-faceted program that combined new solar energy infrastructure and retrofitting of buildings. Rooftop solar panels were added to the sanctuary’s George Robert White Environmental Conservation Center, along with a new ground-mounted array erected nearby. All of this means that the sanctuary now produces more energy than it uses.
Green Building Virtual Tour
The George Robert White Environmental Conservation Center grew out of a strong commitment to conservation and environmental protection from both the City of Boston and Mass Audubon. This building consumes 30% less energy than a conventional building, uses fewer natural resources, and creates a safer, healthier space for occupants.
