MABA Pop-up Exhibition at MIT Museum
Special Event: Thursday, May 8
6:00-9:00 pm
Explore the beauty and wonder of birds through the eyes of artists! View some of the incredible works of art from the collection of the Museum of American Bird Art (MABA) at the MIT Museum in Cambridge. From John James Audubon to Charley Harper to David Sibley, artists have been inspired by avian creatures since the earliest visual art was painted. See some of the incredible works of art from Mass Audubon’ s collection on display, identify your spirit bird, and mingle with other avian-minded museum goers.
As part of MIT Museum’s “After Dark” series, you’ll get the chance to explore science, art, and a few more surprises after hours, including demonstrations, tastings, conversation, and interactive play. MIT Museum’s galleries will be open, with live music, cash bar, and bites for purchase by culinary specialists from around Boston.
Plus! Printmaking with The Nest
The Nest, MABA’s design workshop and art maker studio, will also join the festivities! Create your own vibrant bird-inspired art using gel plates and artist-quality printmaking supplies.
