Climate and Nature Champions
Mass Audubon’s Climate and Nature Champions is a grassroots advocacy program that mobilizes individuals across Massachusetts to speak with one voice on the most pressing environmental issues of our time.
Whether you have been an advocate before or are new to policy work, you can help Mass Audubon fight for land and wildlife protections, clean air and water, and policies that will reduce climate-heating pollution.
No matter how much time you have, your involvement can help. Levels of participation vary from emailing your representative about a key issue to organizing your local community around a campaign. In addition to our active campaigns, Mass Audubon always advocates for our policy priorities.
Current Campaigns
Rescue Raptors
Eagles, owls, foxes, and other predators are being sickened and killed after eating poisoned rodents. We're supporting local initiatives to reduce the use of rat poisons and protect our wildlife.
Restore Horseshoe Crabs
Overfishing has severely depleted horseshoe crab populations in Massachusetts. We’re working to restore this ancient species and the complex coastal ecosystems that depend on them.
Grow Solar, Protect Nature
Massachusetts needs more solar energy, but it shouldn't come at the expense of forests and farmlands. Help us push for responsible solar energy development that will create the clean energy we need while conserving the nature we have.
Become an Advocate
Join our grassroots advocacy network to get involved. As a Climate and Nature Champion, you'll receive opportunities to attend trainings with Mass Audubon legislative experts and receive the tools you need to organize on your own.
State Legislature Website 101
The Massachusetts Legislature website has tools that help you stay connected to your state legislators, track bills, attend hearings, advocate with committees, and more.
