Get Ready for Summer Camp 2025

January 15, 2025

Anyone who’s been to camp knows the value of spending the summer with your hands in the dirt, your feet in the water, and your face in the sun. Here at Mass Audubon, we work hard to create camp programs that foster the kind of creative, adventurous, and outdoor camp experiences that so many families in Massachusetts have come to know and love.

This summer, campers across the state can choose from our 16 nature day camps, with new and exciting programs available statewide.

New This Year

Wildwood Camp is back! From overnight camp for ages 10-13 to Counselor-in-Training for ages 16-17 to Family Camp for all ages, Wildwood has something for everybody. Teen Adventure Trips, for ages 13-17, give campers a chance to explore some of the most incredible nature that New England has to offer, including backpacking portions of the Appalachian Trail, biking the stunning beaches of Cape Cod, and kayaking off the rugged coast of Maine.

At Stony Brook Nature Camp in Norfolk, campers are treated to not one, but two new specialty camps this year. During Potion Masters, campers ages 11-13 will make lotions, bio plastic, paper, dyes, bath bombs, candles, and more. During Identification Olympics, campers ages 12-14 will learn how to identify dozens of different species of plants and animals, from dragonflies to birds to trees to frogs.

At North River Nature Camp in Marshfield, there is a new age group for 6-year-old campers entering first grade: Trackers. The addition of a Trackers group allows for more families to register for camp, while still maintaining small group sizes (max 10).

At Berkshire Nature Camp at Pleasant Valley in Lenox, the Counselors-in-Training program returns! Berkshires also has increased the amount of sliding scale pricing available this year, making camp more affordable for more families.

At Broadmoor Nature Camp in Natick, it’s the summer of water! Biologists will canoe all around Broadmoor’s beautiful waterways during Ways of Water, and campers in the new Life Aquatic session will explore the ways plants and animals have adapted to live in water—and what humans have learned from those very adaptations.

How to Register

Online registration for most day camps opens at 6:00 am on one of three Wednesdays in January. Read our registration instructions to find out when your camp’s registration opens. Registration by phone and customer support will be available during regular business hours.

Once registration opens, some camps will sell out quickly, so it's important to prepare the following in advance of opening day:

  1. Pick the sessions you’re interested in registering for in the program catalog, and bookmark them in your browser for easy access.
  2. Review the Sliding Scale pricing tiers and identify which applies to you. This year, when a tier fills, you will have the option of either adding yourself to a waitlist or registering at the next higher tier (for example, if Tier 2 is full, you can register for Tier 3). Please note: We are thrilled to be able to offer sliding scale pricing for all of our day camps, and we work hard to make camps affordable for families. Our sliding scale options are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and there is limited tiered pricing available per camp, per tier.
  3. Log in to your online registration account to verify your login information and check your membership status. To register for camp at sliding scale pricing Tiers 4 and 5, you must be a member. Those registering at Tiers 1-3 will have the option to receive a free one-year membership.

On opening day, starting at 6:00 am, go to your bookmarked sessions or search in the program catalog to find the programs you want to register for. You will then click register, select the applicable sliding scale tier from the drop-down menu, and add the session to your Cart. When you are done selecting sessions, check out and pay the deposit or the entire registration fee.

Some camps have slightly different registration procedures. To make sure you’re prepared, please read through the full registration instructions and camp policies.

We can’t wait to explore the great outdoors with you this summer!
