Participants

Since 1996, students and teachers have assisted the Massachusetts Audubon Society in collecting exciting and important data about salt marshes to improve protection efforts. Thousands of students from 9 towns have participated in this study to date and the number is growing.

Schools involved in the Salt Marsh Science Project include:

  • Danvers: Saint Mary's School of the Annunciation, Grades 6 - 8;
    Essex Agricultural and Technical High School
  • Ipswich: Ipswich High School, Grades 9 - 12
  • Essex: Essex Elementary and Middle School, Grades 5 & 6.
  • Gloucester: O'Maley School, Grade 6 & 8
  • Natick: Homeschoolers
  • Newbury: Newbury Elementary School
  • Newburyport: Rupert A. Nock Middle School, Grade 7 & 8
  • Revere: Revere High School
  • Rockport: Rockport Middle School.
  • Rowley: Pine Grove School, Grade 6
  • Salisbury: Salisbury Memorial School, Grade 6
  • Topsfield: Procter School, Grade 5.
  • Wellfleet: Cape Cod Lighthouse Charter School, Grade 7
