Summer Camp Summer Adventures for Children This year let the kids play in our backyard, all 1,200 acres of it!
Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary’s magnificent setting was once a colonial farm and now includes over 1,200 acres in the highlands of Princeton. The scenery ranges from the splendid view atop Brown Hill to extensive wetlands, and from sunny open meadows to deep shady forests. There are two historic oak trees, a huge glacial boulder, a trail highlighting the new beaver pond, and an endless variety of birds, mammals, butterflies, salamanders, and wildflowers to satisfy the most intense curiosity!
Children are encouraged to increase their observation skills and develop a closer bond with nature. Our sessions incorporate areas of nature study, environmental science and field ecology into daily activities while allowing ample time for exploration and discovery. Group sizes are small; our counselor/child ratio is 1 to 10 for ages 9 - 17, 1 to 8 for ages 7 - 8 and 1 to 5 for ages 3 1/2 - 6. *Requires a PDF reader. Download Adobe Reader.
