Fern and Feather Natural History Day Camp

Our day camp offers an exciting opportunity for your child to experience the outdoors on a 350-acre wildlife sanctuary. We explore forest, field, marsh, fresh water pond and salt water habitats to observe and investigate the natural world of animals, plants and geology. Our goal is to help your child enjoy, understand and appreciate the natural environment through hands-on, inquiry-based activities. Non-competitive programs are designed to encourage each camper to actively explore their surroundings and make their own discoveries. Each weekly theme incorporates outdoor investigation, games, activities, hikes, stories and crafts.

Fern and Feather is a very different experience than school, but our learning goals for each age group correspond with state education frameworks to provide age-appropriate content for your child to carry throughout all of his or her educational experiences.

Our Instructors are college students and graduates with a background in education and/or science. They are First Aid, CPR and/or Lifeguard certified and attend a week of training in safety, child development and natural history. All instructors are chosen for their enthusiasm and ability to work with children.
