We Really Do Have Something to Crow About!

Something to Crow About, the Gala Dinner and Auction to benefit the Campaign for Drumlin Farm, was a huge success. Held November 10, 2008 at the Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord, the auction drew 160 guests and raised $130,000 for campaign projects!

The evening included dinner, live and silent auction items, and a raffle. Fabulous auction items included two beautiful chicken-themed quilts made by Sanctuary Director Christy Foote-Smith and other quilters from the Drumlin Farm community, behind-the-scenes tours at the Boston Symphony and the New England Aquarium, dinners at top Boston-area restaurants and much more. One of the hottest items on the live auction list was the special chance to camp overnight on the Drumlin! We also welcomed a longtime friend of Drumlin Farm, noted author and ornithologist David Allen Sibley, who signed copies of his book, "The Sibley Guide to Bird Life and Behavior."

The special event was a fantastic fund-raiser in a series of events that supported the successful Campaign for Drumlin, which closed over goal (with $3.7 million raised) in June 2008.
