Goal
Project goal:Control invasive plant species black swallow-wort (
Cynanchum louiseae) and pale swallow-wort (
Cynanchum rossicum) and prevent spread to adjacent non-sanctuary lands.

Mechanical removal by digging and pulling, harvesting of seed pods, and foliar herbicide treatments.

Boston Nature Center: 95% reduction in swallow-wort
Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary: 90% reduction in swallow-wort
Cedar Pond Wildlife Sanctuary: swallow-wort eradicated
Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary: 50% reduction in swallow-wort
Endicott Regional Center: 90% reduction in swallow-wort
Visual Arts Center: 80% reduction in swallow-wort
