Goutweed (Aegopodium podagraria)

Form:
  perennial herb, usually less than 1 foot tall but flower heads may reach 3 feet
Origin:
  Asia
How it got here:
  probably introduced as a groundcover for landscaping
How it spreads:
  vegetatively by stolons
Threat:
  frequently invades woodlands adjacent to areas where it has been planted. Forms dense stands that displace native herbaceous species. Goutweed discarded in yard waste may start new colonies.
